Congratulations Nuur, our Smokefree Champion after completing our 12 week quit programme recently.
Nuur had seen advertisements promoting the Yorkshire Smokefree service and decided to give it a try. He thought he would never be able to go smoke-free and told us that looking for a smoking area was always "his priority", even in airports and outdoor smoking shelters. Smoking was dominating his life but he finally decided now was the time to try quitting.
After talking with a Sheffield-based avisor Nuur opted to use a vape to help him remove tobacco from his life. Combining the vape with sheer determination Nuur managed to quit tobacco, as recorded by carbon monoxide readings at 4 week intervals. Now he's 12 weeks smoke-free Nurr tells us:
"Walking around is much easier, and I am not out of breath. I breathe normally now. I went to play football with my kids the other day, and before I used just watch them play but never join in. Text messages, hospitality and advice from my Yorkshire Smokefree advisor was really helpful. They give friendly advice as if you would be their family, treating a me as though they already knew me."
