What you can expect from your advisor:

  • A confidential programme of help and support tailored to your individual needs.
  • One to one session, usually weekly in the case of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and sessions every 2 weeks for clients using Zyban. Sessions may be virtual, telephone or face to face as appropriate.
  • Tips on how to deal with cravings and break the habit and keep you motivated.
  • Advice on Nicotine Replacement Therapy and other stop smoking medications.
  • Information about the positive benefits of quitting
  • If NRT is requested and agreed to, you will receive a weekly e-voucher to your mobile phone for the first 4 weeks and a two-weekly e-voucher for the following 8 weeks – 12 weeks in total, to be presented to a participating pharmacy.
  • The advisor will issue one NRT product only.
  • Advisors are not able to issue e-vouchers to clients who continue to smoke beyond week 4.
  • E-vouchers for Zyban (if eligible) are issued once every 4 weeks for up to 8 weeks, to be presented and dispensed at the same pharmacy for the duration of the programme. (In exceptional circumstances e.g. where the pharmacist is a locum who is unable to supply Zyban, the client may use another participating pharmacy).
  • The support of the HUB advisors (open 6 days a week) and the online support programme, available 24/7 to supplement your face-to-face support.

What we expect from you:

  • Once you have set a quit date, you commit to complete abstinence from smoking including any cigarettes, cigars, pipes, hand rolled tobacco etc.
  • Clients using NRT: Attendance to the service every week for the first 4 weeks and then every 2 weeks until the end of the 12-week programme.
  • Clients using Zyban: Attendance to the service every 2 weeks until the end of the 12-week programme.
  • Confirmation at week 4 and 12 of your smoking status either face to face, virtual, telephone or SMS when requested.
  • If you are attending face to face this cannot be changed to a telephone appointment.
  • If you are attending a virtual appointment this cannot be changed to a telephone appointment.
  • You must Inform us if you cannot attend an appointment either by telephone, sms or e-mail.
  • If you are more than 10 minutes late for an appointment, we will do our best to accommodate you however this cannot be guaranteed.
  • Use stop smoking medications as directed by an advisor, this will give you a better chance of becoming smoke free.
  • Contact us if you experience any problems.
  • Agree to provide a contact number and e-mail address to be contacted by phone, text or e-mail: for support, follow ups or if you do not attend.
