A campaign to reduce tobacco usage in Sheffield is searching for local smokers, ex-smokers and current quitters to feature in a photoshoot.

Smokefree Sheffield, set up by the city council’s tobacco control board, wants to find adults who have been diagnosed with smoking-related conditions including COPD, heart disease, asthma, infertility, diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis.

Those older than 18 who have also suffered with smoking-related tooth loss, blindness, cataracts or the loss of tastebuds are also invited to take part in the photography, which will be used in marketing materials.

Smokefree Sheffield is keen to highlight the wide range of health conditions caused or exacerbated by smoking that people often do not think about. Conditions that often have a big impact on quality of life, for the rest of their lives.

We are hoping to hear from local people who want to help us in our mission to reduce smoking in our city by telling the next generation their stories.

By taking part, you will be helping others to try quitting and doing your bit to reach a Smokefree Sheffield.

The one-day photoshoot is expected to take place within the next three weeks at a location in central Sheffield.

The final photos will be used for the campaign, likely in posters, digital adverts and on the new Smokefree Sheffield website.
