A consultant guide to the Flexus Q!

How Do You Use Aspire Flexus Q?
To turn your Aspire Flexus Q pod kit on and off, press the FIRE BUTTON on the front of the device FIVE TIMES consecutively at no more than a second per-press apart, and the LED light will flash blue 3 times to show that the device has been turned on/off.
When placing your Flexus Q kit into your bag, coat or pocket, we highly recommend turning your device off with 5 rapid clicks before storing away your device to prevent the device from being activated when not in-use.

Ensure the pod is filled and connected:

Now you can fill your pod with E-Liquid. Turn off your device and remove the pod from your battery. Once your pod is detached, you can insert one of the included coils into your pod. You can then begin to fill up the Flexus Q pod by unplugging the rubber bung on the side of the pod, which reveals a small filling hole and then inserting the juice before closing the hole with the attached rubber bung.
Once filled for the first time, your pod must be left alone for roughly 5-10 minutes without being seated into the device to allow the coil to be fully saturated in e-liquid before attaching the pod back on top of the battery. It is an essential step to perform each time your coil is replaced before first use.
Turn on the device and select your preferred power level:
When the pod is successfully filled up, click the fire button five times consecutively to turn the device on and then choose your desired power setting by clicking the fire button three times consecutively. A Red LED indicates “Low” mode, a Blue LED indicates “Medium” mode, and a Green LED indicates “High” mode.

Adjust the device’s airflow to your preference:
When the Flexus Q pod is attached, and the power settings have been adjusted to your preference, you can adjust the airflow to suit your vaping style. To do this, you must move the sliding button on the side of the vaping device up or down to give you more or less airflow.
A smaller airflow will result in a much tighter inhale, similar to a traditional cigarette. Having the airflow more open will result in a much smoother inhale, which can also intensify the cloud vapour production and flavour. Please remember to never fully-close your device’s airflow.

Check your device’s battery level:
To check this, click the fire button once your coil has allowed time to saturate, your pod is connected and the device is powered on. If your device’s LED indicator light shines GREEN or BLUE, it has a good level of charge in the cell already and is ready for use.
If the LED indicator light shines RED, it will need to be charged using the USB Type-C cable included inside the box. If you are receiving the kit on prescription from the NHS, please use the USB Wall Plug included. When your device is fully charged the indicator light will turn off. It is important not to leave you device charging overnight and to ensure your battery is not covered during the charging process!

Basic Maintenance & Changing your Coil:
After 5-7 days of use, the coil inside of your device will begin to gradually reach the end of it’s usable lifespan. This can usually be identified by a burnt taste or even slight seepage of E-Liquid from the coils base. This will require your coil to be changed with a new, fresh coil in order to keep your experience pleasant.
To change your coil, simply remove your old coil from the pod tank once your E-Liquid level inside the pod itself is almost depleted and insert a new coil from the blister pack of spares. Once you have inserted your coil, fill your pod tank to the indicated fill-line with your E-Liquid and leave your pod tank to sit for around 5-10 minutes before reattaching your pod tank to your device.
Changing your device’s coil every 5-7 days is highly recommended to ensure that your device is performing at it’s best.

Problem solving / Common questions:

Why is the pod leaking?
After 5-7 days a coil may begin to reach the end of its lifespan. A leaking pod can be one of the signs and another can be described as a burnt taste. If this is the case a new coil will need to be installed. If the issues persist, it is worth checking the coil is installed correctly and checking the device has not been dropped. It is also worth checking the rubber bung is in place after filling up. All compartments to an electronic cigarette are sealed off. The chances of e-liquid damaging a battery are very low.
Why does my vape feel slurpy when I use it?
This can happen when a coil has absorbed too much liquid (usually when the device has not been in use for a few days). This can be solved by turning the device upside down, pressing the fire button for 3 seconds and flicking the device. Any excess liquid will either be vaporised or flicked out. Please make sure this is done over a sink. This could also be caused by using a 0.6ohm coil on too lower setting, if so make the user aware that they would need the 1.0ohm coils in this case.
Why is the device getting hot when it’s charging?
With all NHS kits, we have supplied a plug for these devices. Electronic cigarettes are trickle charge devices and require a lower amp plug for safe charging. If a device is getting hot during charging this may be cause by using an alternative plug such as a plug use for mobile devices which are fast charging.
Why does the button flash when I’m trying to use it?
If the button is flashing, check the contacts between the battery and the pod/coil are clean. If the contacts are clean the device may need to be recharged or the coil may need to be replaced. It is very rare to have an issue with the battery. In store if the coil is under a few days old we will replace the coil and test the device before the customer leaves. 99% of problems with electronic cigarettes are related to the coil. Occasionally though wear and tear a pod may need to be replaced.
Why are my coils burning out so quick?
There are a few things that could make your coil burn out quicker. One is the power setting, if the setting is constantly set on the highest mode, more power is being put through the coil, it may be the 0.6ohm coil is the better coil for future use. Another reason could be the
device is being run too low on e-liquid. As a rule of thumb, we try and encourage customers to keep the device topped up at least 50% to prevent a ‘dry burn’.
Do I need to clean my vape?
It is advised to clean the top of the battery and the bottom of the pod every time the coil is changed. It is safe to wipe the connectors with kitchen roll or a cotton wool bud. If the connectors are not cleaned, it can lead to a case where the device has some build up appear on the connectors, resulting in the device not firing. If this happens then you can usually scrape off the build up with a bit of tissue and your fingernail.
When I press the button nothing happens, why is this?
First thing to try is clicking the button 5 times quickly, this will ensure the device is turned on. If there is no light present, please try charging the device. If your device shows a light but no vapour is coming through, this sounds like a connection issue with the coil. If the coil is over 5 days old, replace for a new one and make sure the connections are clean. If the issue persists, we may need to see this in store to resolve.
How long does each bottle last?
This can differ from person to person as everyone smoking habits are different. It is common for more liquid to be used at the start of vaping as this may require new routines. If the liquid is described as ‘weak’, it may be wise increasing the strength, clients can always drop back down.
Loose pod connection:
Over time the pod may feel loose in the device, as these are made from plastic, over time with wear and tear these will need replacing.
General rule of thumb for liquid strengths
We don’t always follow this scale as we ask many questions when a client comes into store but the below shows a rough indication: -
20+ Cigarettes a day = 18mg/20mg
10-15 Cigarettes a day = 12mg/10mg
Below 10 cigarettes a day = 6mg/5mg
